Back in December 2023, Epic Games added a trio of new experiences to the Fortnite platform. One of the experiences was LEGO® Fortnite, a survival game featuring digital LEGO structures and characters. Almost a year since launch, it was renamed LEGO Fortnite Odyssey. Around the same time, the first wave of physical LEGO Fortnite sets were released, transforming some of the digital LEGO Styles into physical LEGO minifigures. This Summer, the second wave of LEGO Fortnite arrives, recreating moments from the game. Each of the upcoming LEGO Fortnite sets also includes new unlockable digital content. One of the new sets is inspired by the Lost Isles area of Fortnite’s LEGO reality. Here’s an early look at the LEGO Fortnite Klombo set.

Klombo’s are lumbering dinosaur-like beasts which were first introduced to Fortnite during the first season of Chapter 3. Players first found the Klombo sleeping under piles of snow, but were soon seen wandering around. Players could feed Klombos with Klomberries and other objects to be rewarded with weapons and items. The Klombo disappeared once the next season began, but made a surprise return in LEGO Fortnite. As part of the Lost Isles content, players could find and befriend a LEGO Klombo. Original Klombo’s were also found chilling out in special pools across the islands.
Klombo’s build begins with its body section. This becomes the base for the creature’s six legs, tail and head. One of the impressive things about the body is how it’s been textured by layering it with different elements. These do an amazing job of replicating Klombo’s scales, especially the sand blue sections. The back of the body is lined with bright pink diamonds, which are mounted on clip holders. The Klombo have six legs, which are connected to the body by click joints. These allow each leg to be repositioned, but due to the shape of the creature, posing is limited.
One of my favourite parts of the set is Klombo’s head. Its wide, toothy grin translates nicely in LEGO form. I especially like the way its mouth has been done. It can be opened, but the jaw has a sort of floating hinge. The head is mounted on a flex joint with a decent range of movements. The head is surrounded by a plume of blue leaf elements, which is one of the only differences I can spot between the original digital Klombo and its upcoming physical counterpart. The rest of the build looks as if it’s stepped out of the game. Along with Klombo, the set also includes a small piece of scenery. This features a Klomberry bush fruiting three Klomberries.
The set includes two new minifigures inspired by the LEGO Styles of two Fortnite skins. The first is another variant of Peely. The anthropomorphic banana first appeared as a minifigure in the Battle Bus set. This new version uses the same mould as Adventure Peely but is styled to resemble Island Adventure Peely. The colourful tribal print really pops against the yellow of Peely’s banana skin body. Oro is a former pirate king obsessed with gold. His home was the Lost Isles, making his inclusion in this set make sense. His minifigure introduced a new element to recreate his bandaged crown.
Each of the new LEGO Fortnite sets includes access to an in-game digital reward. This set offers the Island Adventure Peely outfit and LEGO Style. To access this, you’ll need to scan the QR code found on the set’s instruction booklet using the LEGO Builder app. This will bring you to a page where you can register your set for Insiders points and access the code required to gain access to the digital reward. You’ll need an Epic account to redeem your code.
It’s nice to see the new wave of LEGO Fortnite sets focus more on the minifigures. These have become a popular aspect of the game. Although Oro has a connection to the Lost Isles in Fortnite lore, I’d have preferred a Tomato Warrior. It’s also nice to see a set based on something seen in the game. As soon as the Klumbo was added, it was clear it would make a great set. It’s a little bigger than I expected, but it does feel a tad overpriced. The build is fun, and I especially like the texture achieved with the layering of elements. Despite the slight difference with the blue scales around Klumbo’s head, it’s an almost 1:1 recreation of the in-game model. The addition of different in-game content with each set is nice, but it’s a shame the content was previously included with a past LEGO Pass. Fans of LEGO Fortnite will most likely already own the Island Adventure Peely skin. The LEGO Fortnite Klumbo set will be available from June 1st and can be pre-ordered now.
