Compared to some of the other teams who compete in the F1 Championship, Hass is still a fairly new team. They were established in 2014 and have roots in NASCAR, being the only US team. Although they will be joined by Cadillac in the 2026 season. Haas has competed in every F1 season since 2016 but has failed to achieve any major wins. This is the first time the team has been featured in a LEGO® set, and as part of the F1 Collection, they are one of few teams to be featured in a LEGO set, a 4+ set and a DUPLO set. With the finish line, here’s a look at the penultimate LEGO Speed Champions set, the MoneyGram Hass VF-24 set.

Haas is one of the new partners to the LEGO Group as a result of the overall Formula 1 partnership. As well as inspiring one of the 10 F1 Race Car sets, a Haas-branded car also features in a LEGO 4+ set and the DUPLO F1 sets. It will also feature in the upcoming F1 Collectible Cars. The Haas F1 Race Car is based on the team’s 2024 livery, which is inspired by the team’s main sponsor, MoneyGram.
I’ve made a point of commenting on how different the builds of each of the Speed Champions F1 cars are. However, after building all 10 of the sets, this one felt the least unique. It has elements of other sets, such as the curved plates used for the side panels. Yet, there are a couple of unique features. These include a white stripe which runs along each side of the car. These blend stickered pieces with elements, including a couple of 1×1 white tiles featuring black print on the top of them.
Despite the overall makeup of the Speed Champions F1 cars being similar, they are still unique enough to offer different build experiences. One thing I noticed more with this set than others is the fact that the driver’s seat is quite compact. Most of the minifigures can only be slotted into place with the arms raised, but the Haas driver is almost waving them in the air like it just doesn’t care.
An oddly unique feature for this set, and something I’ve only seen in this set, is a set of unique wheel hubs for either side of the car. The 2×2 round caps, which are slotted into the centres of the unique F1 tyres, are minutely different. They each have red flashes which swirl in different ways. It’s extremely difficult to see, but I guess it shows commitment to capturing these sorts of details of the cars.
As previously mentioned in reviews of the other Speed Champions F1 sets, they offer a mix of generic drivers, each kitted out in a rather plain race suit. They also feature a unique helmet; this is a new element introduced alongside the F1 sets and currently only found in the Speed Champions sets. They will return in the F1 Collectable Race Car series but will be different designs. The driver in this set is the only one to feature a head with two expressions. This has nothing to do with being an F1 set; it is due to the head being a generic one.
The team’s livery isn’t as vivid as some of their rivals, but the red, white and black color scheme does look quite cool. Overall, it’s not the best of the F1 cars. The build isn’t as unique as some of the others, and it doesn’t really have any standout features. However, it is great that a lesser-known team, which may have never appeared in a LEGO set, is included in the F1 Collection. The MoneyGram Haas F1 Race Car set is available now.
