During the 90 Years of Play celebrations in 2022, various bygone LEGO® themes were brought back in new sets. They were a hit with fans, so much so, that further retro themes also inspired several promotional sets. One such set was a remake of an old Blacktron ship and now the Classic Space Subtheme has inspired an upcoming new set with the Blacktron Renegade. The set is a remake of the 1987 set of the same name but has been reimagined for a new generation and uses new elements and build techniques. The 1151-piece set features a large ship and removable rover vehicle along with three minifigures. Just like the 80s set, the Renegade can also be rebuilt into alternate models using the LEGO Builder app. The LEGO Icons Blacktron Renegade set will be available from January 1st for Insiders and January 4th for everyone else, with an RRP of £89.99/$99.99/99.99€/179.99AUD.
