If you have read any recent LEGO® set reviews or built some of the latest releases, you’ll notice the instruction booklet has been redesigned. In short, they are now mostly white with a questionable set image on the cover and have a consistent style across themes. Whilst I agree the images are iffy, the instructions themselves are unaffected and will only be looked at during the build. Plus ‘special’ releases will still offer unique instructions. The LEGO Group has provided a short statement about the change, basically, it’s part of the sustainable packaging drive. Read it below.
“The LEGO Group is on a journey to make its packaging more sustainable by 2025. As we are gradually replacing single-use plastic bags with paper-based bags in our boxes, other in-box materials such as the cover of Building Instructions have also been re-designed for a visually consistent unboxing experience.”
