Universal’s LEGO Movie News Coming Soon

After taking cinemas by storm in 2014, The LEGO® Movie was followed by a couple of spin-offs and a sequel. But with The Second Part not being as impactful as the first film, Warner Bros. decided to abandon the LEGO film rights in 2020, where they were soon snapped up by Universal. Since it was announced the LEGO Group would partner with Universal, things have been quiet until now. Producer Dan Lin, who briefly discussed future plans for new LEGO films with The Ankler Podcast: “We know we have to switch it up & take to a different art form that’s still true to LEGO, we should have some announcements soon… I think we’ve reinvented it in a cool way.” So it seems we’ll be getting news of a new big-screen LEGO adventure very soon. It won’t follow on from the previous films due to those characters being co-owned by Warner and the original animation studio behind all four of the original LEGO movies, was recently purchased by Netflix
