During the latest Nintendo Direct, it was announced that the animated movie based on the Super Mario games will be released in late 2022. Although there isn’t a direct link to the world of LEGO®, it’s extremely possible, there will be sets based on the film. The LEGO Group are already working with Nintendo to create the current line-up of LEGO Super Mario sets. They also have a strong relationship with Universal Pictures, after already creating sets based on Universal movies including Back to the Future, Jurassic World, Trolls World Tour and Minions. The LEGO connections don’t end there as it was also revealed that Chris Pratt will be voicing Mario, yes I kid you not! Plus Charlie Day will take on the role of Luigi, both have previously voiced characters from The LEGO Movie. So will we see new LEGO Super Mario Movie sets and possibly Minifigures in 2022? It’s very possible.
