This month has seen the first ever sustainable LEGO® bricks arrive, in a special promotional set. The LEGO Plants From Plants campaign it the LEGO Group’s first step in their quest to become a more environmentally friendly company. The first elements to be made from plant are plants. With various botanical elements made from a plastic sourced from sustainable sugarcane. They don’t appear to be any different from old LEGO elements, feeling and looking the same. These new elements will start appearing in various LEGO sets this year and mark the first step towards using sustainable materials in all core LEGO products by 2030. To help spread the word of this super new elements, LEGO have called upon the help of a few sustainable super heroes, lead by Plantus Maximus. Who is joined by a few foliage infused friends.
Why not create your own sustainable super hero, here’s my effort Plantzo. You can check out some amazing plant super heroes MOCs from a number of excellent fan builders here. Share your creation on social media using the #LEGOPlantsFromPlants or on LEGO Life in the special Plants from Plants group. You’ll also be able to create your own sustainable super hero at the Natural History Museum through August starting this weekend.
