The LEGO Group reveals new plans for cutting-edge Innovation Campus in Billund
Billund, Denmark – December 21, 2022: The LEGO Group has today unveiled revised plans for a brand-new cutting-edge Innovation Campus in Billund, Denmark. The new campus will provide a home for thousands of talented colleagues working within Product Marketing & Development functions and supporting Engineering & Quality functions in an inspiring and creative workplace environment.
Construction of this state-of-the-art building will commence in 2024. Innovation Campus will be located at Kløvermarken in Billund, making it the company’s third grand campus in Billund and forming part of its plans to significantly expand and upgrade its global headquarters. The original plan to build an office building in the centre of Billund was changed to accommodate the anticipated growth in number of employees.
Julia Goldin, Chief Product & Marketing Officer says: “With Innovation Campus we want to create a truly inspiring workspace that allows us to continue to deliver irresistible LEGO® Building and Play Experiences to all fans of LEGO – adults and kids around the world. This is an investment in our people and our brand, and I am excited by the prospect of creating an environment that fuels passion and fosters creativity and innovation.”
The opening of the new 43,000 m2 building is scheduled for 2027.
22nd December 2022
Presumably, as LEGO own most of the real estate backing onto Kløvermarken, this new development will simply replace existing and no longer required offices and warehousing?
