After a successful trial of paper bags designed to replace single-use plastic in boxes throughout this year, The LEGO Group will begin phasing in the new paper packaging from early 2022. Sets released next year will see recyclable paper bags replacing the current plastic ones. If this wider release of paper bags contiunes to prove successful, the plastic ones will be a thing of the past. With the use of renewable energy, investment in sustainable materials to create LEGO® elements and other ways to be more green, the LEGO Group is on track to make all packaging 100 percent sustainable by 2025 as well as operations across the company.
