New LEGO Pick A Brick Experience Begins Tomorrow

A few weeks ago the LEGO Group announced changes to the current Pick A Brick and Bricks & Pieces services offered by LEGO.com. Both services are set to merge into a single platform, with this new version of the service launching tomorrow in the UK, Netherlands, Germany and France. There will be a minimum spend amount for orders, if this is not met there will be an additional ‘service/handling’ fee as well as postal costs, these will vary depending on the region. So for the UK if you spend over £10 on an element order there will be no additional fee. In the Netherlands, Germany and France, the minimum spend is 12€. If these minimum spends aren’t met then there will be an additional fee of £5/€6 on Standard Pieces and £2/€3 on Bestseller Pieces. Postage cost will still apply regardless of what you spend or any other fees added to your order. The changes and new pricing system will be easier to envision once the service goes live on Monday. Read more about the changes here and they will roll out to further countries in the coming weeks.

  1. I live in the US and I’m all-too-frequent user of pick-a-brick. Previously there were around 1400 bricks available through pick-a-brick. Then, overnight, something changed and there are now only around 640 bricks available. While there are a great many unusual bricks now available, gone is the plethora of plain bricks & plates in a rainbow of colors. If, say, my kids want to design a blue building for our town, we’re out of luck, because there aren’t any foundational pieces! Please tell me this is temporary. Otherwise I’m going to be spending a fortune on ebay.

    • The roll out hasn’t happened in the US yet so it should be temporarily if you head to LEGO.com and manually switch the US to GB or switch region using the flag at the bottom of the page you should be able to see what the new version is like obviously you won’t be able to order through there though

      • Hey thanks for that! I did as you suggested and I see 12.7k bricks available! Woo hoo! Can’t wait till we have that across the pond. I guess I should start saving up now. Salivating at the possibilities. Looks like my wallet is doomed to suffer come what may.
