Lightyear Trailer May Offer Hints Towards Future Sets

With rumours of a trio of LEGO® sets releasing next year based on Disney•Pixar’s upcoming Lightyear movie, the newly released trailer could hint towards what the sets could offer. Lightyear is the story of the ‘real’ astronaut, who acted as the inspiration for the Buzz Lightyear toys from the beloved Toy Story franchise. The non-toy version of Buzz Lightyear will be voiced by Chris Evans. As the trailer shows there are plenty of things with could inspire LEGO sets including the Star Command ship, mission control and Buzz’s apartment. It would be safe to assume there will be a visit to an alien world in the movie, which could also make for a good set. The question is will the ‘real’ Buzz Minifigure use the same suit as the Toy Story sets? If we are getting some LEGO Disney Lightyear sets, they then will be toys based on the movie, which acted as inspiration for the toys from another movie. Until confirmed by the LEGO Group or Disney, possible sets based on Lightyear are merely a rumour.
