Light Brick Studios Set To Become Independent

Back in late 2019, a new game studio emerged called Light Brick Studios. They began as a newly formed in-house game studio within the LEGO Group and their first title was the delightful Apple Arcade exclusive, Builder’s Journey. The small studio is now being spun out of the LEGO umbrella to become an independent developer. This has been achieved thanks to an investment from LEGO Ventures. This is an entity which is also separate from the LEGO Group but invests in things which have the same brand values as LEGO. Becoming independent will allow Light Brick Studios to develop titles beyond those focused on LEGO bricks and characters. Builder’s Journey is an excellent little game, which is really restricted by being only on iOS and also locked behind Apple Arcade. Hopefully, this new development will still allow similar LEGO focused games like Builder’s Journey to exist and hopefully on more platforms. This news comes via VentureBeat.
