LEGOLAND® expands with eight new LEGO® attractions and more than 10 million LEGO bricks in 2022

LEGOLAND® guests will have even more to look forward to when the park opens for the 2022 season. Next year’s expansion is the single biggest addition of LEGO® bricks to LEGOLAND since 1968, and includes eight new building attractions, over 10 million LEGO bricks and spectacular new LEGO models at the ‘Mini Boats’ activity.

Today, LEGOLAND® unveiled next year’s new attractions, which are very much in keeping with the LEGO® philosophy. The 2022 season offers eight new, unique building attractions, where everyone – from the smallest guests to the most passionate master builders – can unfold their creativity and make fabulous models to both play with and exhibit.

“At LEGOLAND, we have been providing inspiration and new ways for our guests to use the LEGO brick for more than 50 years, where the only limit is their imagination. We’re really looking forward to being able to use the LEGO brick in even more ways with our guests moving forward, and hopefully we can also learn a lot from each other,” says Christian Woller, CEO of LEGOLAND.

The various new LEGO building attractions will be constructed at different locations around the park and on a scale and scope that guests cannot build at home – these builds must be experienced firsthand. Immersion, creativity and shared family experiences around the LEGO brick, not to mention the huge wow factor, are just some of the things that guests of LEGOLAND can look forward to from next year.

Unleash your creativity and experience the coolest LEGO models

One of the new building attractions in LEGOLAND where creativity is clearly in focus is LEGOLAND Gallery. Here, guests can build their own models and be inspired and impressed by some of the wildest LEGO models that have been built by LEGO fans from all over the world.

“The LEGOLAND Gallery will be something very special, and we’re really looking forward to its opening at LEGOLAND in 2022. We will be exhibiting some impressive and exciting models from the most talented LEGO fans, but the idea is also to give guests a chance to unleash their creativity and build their own creations,” says Christian Woller.
Guests can also look forward to exploring and developing their building techniques in the Creative Workshop, where the whole family can learn to build cool LEGO models.

“The Creative Workshop is different from de other experiences because it takes place as a classic workshop where the guests are taught to build with LEGO and focus is on learning some of the techniques you can use. We expect to run workshops for guests at all levels, to provide a rewarding learning experience for both the youngest children as well as the older kids and adults who have been building with LEGO bricks for many years,” says Christian Woller.

The smallest guests can also look forward to a new, indoor DUPLO area full of colour, play and imagination – and naturally, plenty of DUPLO bricks to get stuck into.

There will also be the chance for some action and fun competition in both LEGOREDO Town and Polar Land, where guests can try their hand at designing, building and testing out their own LEGO boat and racing against the rest of their family in the ‘Build A Boat’ attraction.

Next to the ‘Atlantis by Sea Life’ activity, there will also be a large new building area, ‘The Great LEGO Reef’, where guests will have the feeling of diving deep down beneath the surface of the sea, and featuring lots of LEGO bricks and building tables, where they can build anything from an octopus to a yellow rubber duck.

In addition to the many new building attractions, the popular attraction ‘Mini Boats’ in Miniland is also getting some new, eye-catching destinations, which guests can look forward to sailing past. The new destinations are massive, impressive LEGO models of some of the world’s most striking structures.
