LEGO Super Mario Gets A Spooky Update

Something spooky has arrived in the LEGO® Mushroom Kingdom and LEGO Super Mario gets a Halloween update. King Boo and his spooky chums are causing a little trouble for LEGO Super Mario, via a new update. Tapping LEGO Mario on any of the ghostly foes from various LEGO Super Mario sets will summon a Boo to the LEGO Super Mario app. As you travel around a course, Boo will float around in your smart device, but if it turns around and spots you must keep LEGO Mario completely still. If you do and Boo doesn’t spot you, you’ll get some bonus coins. To access this new play feature, download the latest update to the LEGO Super Mario app, connect LEGO Mario and update his firmware. Then tap Mario on either a Boo, King Boo or Peepa and hop into the Start pipe Action Brick, a Boo should then appear in the LEGO Super Mario app. Just Beware of Boo!

  1. Hi Adam!

    Thanks for this information!
Do you know how it works when the LEGO app can understand that Mario is moving around when Boo appears?
One of my kids asked me, and i said that I’ll find out!

Thanks in advance for your answer!

    • It basically goes by motion, there are tiny sensors with LEGO Mario, kinda the same tech as in Wii Remotes, Smartphones. If LEGO Mario is being moved when Boo is looking then he can ‘see’ him. As soon as Boo looks round just completely stop moving LEGO Mario. You don’t have to put him down etc just no movement.
