LEGO Star Wars Bespin Duel Release Confusion

The LEGO® Star Wars Bespin Duel set has been officially revealed by Starwars.com as well as being added to LEGO.com in North America. But the mystery surrounding the set’s release continues to get even more confusing. It was originally assumed the set would be an exclusive product available from this year’s Star Wars Celebration event. However, Celebration was called off due to COVID-19. It was then thought the set would be a retailer exclusive in America, after appearing to be a Toys R Us exclusive in Canada. This is partly the case as Starwars.com says the set will only be available from Target.com from August 27th.

If that wasn’t confusing enough the set will also be available directly from LEGO in North America, appearing in the most recent catalogue and being added online today. Allen over on The Brick Fan has also reported that a reader has been able to purchase the set already from an independent retailer in Canada. Throughout all of this, there has been no word on if the set will be available outside of North America.

Even if this was due to be a Celebration set, it’s now deemed a standard set and therefore should be available globally, as LEGO has stated there will no longer be any regional exclusive sets. I’ve enquired about the availability of the set in the UK and beyond, so stay tuned.

    • From what I read, it will be a North American exclusive. Too bad 🙁
