LEGO Set Blasts Off Into Space

Yesterday afternoon the brave citizens of LEGO® City launched their mission to Mars. The Maintenance Shuttle and Lunar Base ‘blasted’ off into the darkness of Space, with a little help from a weather balloon. Taking off from Sheffield, the two sets took over two hours to climb over 33,000 metres to the edge of Space and the whole thing was live streamed on YouTube. It’s definitely a fun way to celebrate 40 years of LEGO Space. This isn’t the first time LEGO has been into Space, LEGO sent a trio of special Minifigures to the ISS, Minifigs.me had some of their custom creation sent into Space with astronaut Tim Peake and a couple of sets have been built by other astronauts on board the ISS. You can see the full range of LEGO City Mars Exploration sets here.
