The LEGO® logo has evolved over the company’s 80 plus year history. But the essence of that famous red square with four little letters has its roots in some of the early versions it. Commissioned by label maker Avery UK, the research asked 2,000 UK adults which brand logos they like the most. The LEGO logo made the top ten, coming in at number 8. The Avery study found a brand’s logo is so important it’s the first thing people notice about a product – ahead of its name and even its colour. Logos are also a key part of what makes a brand memorable. As someone who has one of the old LEGO logo messenger bags, I know first hand how much the logo instantly connects which people of all ages. The amount of people who comment on how cool the bag is or kids shouting LEGO with gleeful joy, just goes to show how recognisable the logo is.
