LEGO Minifigure Mask & Hands Costume Review

If you’ve been a reader of BricksFanz in our various guises over the past few years, you know we have a fondness for the official LEGO® costumes from our friends over at Disguise Inc. But the only gripe has been the lack of adult sizes, well I’m not entirely sure if my suggestions in any way helped, but later this year Disguise will be launching a brand new LEGO costume range, which for the first time, will include adult-sized costumes. Yes your dreams of doing the weekly shop at the supermarket dressed as a LEGO Minifigure, just became a reality! This week a surprise package arrived from the US and in it was a LEGO Guy Adult Iconic Mask & Hands kit and we’ve been wearing it ever since. So let’s take a world exclusive look at this unique new LEGO product.

Product Description

The adult LEGO Guy accessory pack gives you the rare opportunity to transform into the minifigure from your childhood! It’s officially licensed from the toy series and it includes a pair of classic LEGO Minifigure hands and head.

  • Product Name: LEGO Iconic Mask & Hands Adult Kit
  • Features: 2 x LEGO Minifigure hands & fully surrounded Minifigure Head
  • RRP: TBC
  • Item No: #14270
  • Availability: Late August 2018

The Iconic LEGO Guy Adult Mask & Hands Kit includes a pair of Minifigure hand gloves and a deluxe LEGO Minifigure mask. This fully surrounds your head, instantly transforming you into a LEGO Minifigure. The head is made of two sections with join together at the top with a simple tag slot connection.

You can see clearly out of the mash through the eye section of the mask and there is also a smaller section on the mouth, which helps give you a little more air. Not that you’ll be gasping for air when wearing the head.

The two sections of the head are connected by a series of four Velcro dots found along the inside of the side sections of each half of the mask. Once connected together you can hardly see the join and it really secure as well.

The eye and mouth section is made from a see-through mesh type material, the eyes and mouth detail is printed directly onto the mesh. So you can see out of the mesh really well, but if you look at the mask from the outside it just looks like part of the rest of the mask. Inside the area around the eyes and mouth features soft foam padding, making it comfortable to wear.

This pictures really don’t do it justice, so hopefully a short video clip will give you a better feel for how the mask looks and sets on your head. It’s fairly roomy and will fit most adult head sizes and shapes. There will also be a smaller size version available for kids.

As well as the mask, you also get two minifigure-type hands. These are fit over your hands and give the impression of having Minifigure hands. The inside of the gloves are open with two elastic straps to help keep them on your hands. They are made from a soft yet rigid material but are easy to move.

Overall

There has been a number of other LEGO character mask available in recent years from both LEGO and Disguise, but none are as impressive has this one. The instant anyone sees you wearing it, they will easily recognise it has the iconic LEGO Minifigure. The mask and hands the perfect starting point to create your own LEGO Minifigure costume. The mask looks amazing and is great fun to wear. The hands aren’t as fun as the head, however there are other Minifigure hands available which are fully enclosed. You’ll also be able to get a full LEGO Guy costume which will include the same mask as well as hands and an outfit. The LEGO Iconic Adult Mask & Hands Kit will be available later this year and we will be taking a look at some of the other products in the new range in the next few weeks.

Big thanks to Disguise Inc for sending us this product to take a closer look at. The thought expressed within this review of that of BricksFanz and do not reflect those of Disguise Inc or the LEGO Group.
