LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 At Gamescom

During the IGN Live Gamescom stream, TT Games showed off a new section of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, set during the game seventh level on Asgard, the ragtag team time-ravaged team of Marvel heroes face-off against the fiery beast Surtur. Boss battle have been given a tweak compared to past LEGO Games, instead of the classic Nintendo-type trope of three strikes and it’s out, boss characters will now bring the fight to you. You’ll still take on huge foe lurking in the distance, by building various LEGO items but you’ll also been able to directly fight bosses has they join you on the ground. There will also be different types of enemies this time around, pounding the attack button won’t always get you out of a tricky situation. Along with these new features, it has been confirmed that Team-up attacks, introduced in LEGO Marvel Avengers will return, with plenty of fun attacks to be had from various character pairings.

As with each LEGO title, characters are the key and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is packed with them, including some fun time-torn variations of characters. We’ve already seen Cowboy Captain America and during the IGN Live event Old West Iron Man was shown off, who has an amazing ‘suit up’ animation. Other characters shown off include Maestro, a future version of the Hulk, Hydra’s version of Iron Man, Tactical Force, a brief appearance from Captain America (Roberta Mendez) and the German equivalent of Captain America, Vormund. Check out the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 section of the IGN Live Stream right here (begins at the 3hr 2min mark) to see them in action and expect images very soon. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is released on November 17th.
