In the latest LEGO® Designer Video, LEGO designers Wes Talbott and James May talk about how they transformed the original fan design of the typewriter into the latest LEGO Ideas set. Based on the design by fan builder Steve Guinness, the LEGO Ideas Typewriter is an incredible piece of LEGO design. As you’ll see in the video below, the set features the same mechanical functions as a real typewriter. This has been achieved with some clever use of Technic elements all sitting inside a System shell. The LEGO Ideas Typewriter set will be released for VIP members on June 16th from LEGO Stores and LEGO.com.
