LEGO Group Set 100% Sustainable Packaging Goal

The LEGO Group has reinforced its pledge to become a more environmentally sustainable company. They have announced a goal to attain 100% sustainable packaging across their product range. Ambitions include replacing single-use disposable plastics and finding recycled or sustainably sourced bio-based materials for all plastic based packaging. This has already been set in motion over the last couple of years, with box sizing shrinking to use less cardboard. In last years LEGO® Advent Calendars, plastic trays were replaced with a new version made from paper pulp, making them easier to recycle. LEGO have been at the forefront of taking a real step to become a responsible business, with a number of high profile moves to help maintain and advance their goals. These include joining the How2Recycle initiative, moving to use a different form of plastic for bricks and investment in reusable energy.
