LEGO DREAMZzz Gets London Premiere Event

Earlier this evening in a trendy part of London, the upcoming LEGO® DREAMZzz animated series premiered to a lucky few. Various ‘celebs’ were on hand for photo opportunities as the first two episodes of the new show were shown. Far more important than any of the famous faces was BricksFanz London correspondent Robin, who popped along to the White Rabbit in Shoreditch to check it out. Robin said the DREAMZzz series was a mix of Hidden Side and NINJAGO, which got a little dark at times. With the upcoming sets inspired by the show, being very faithful to what’s seen on screen. Thanks to Robin for popping along to the event and to LEGO UK for inviting us. The LEGO DREAMZzz series begins on Monday, you’ll be able to watch on YouTube and various other platforms which include Netflix, Sky Kids, Amazon Prime and ITVX in the UK.

Celebs and their families flock to White Rabbit Shoreditch for Premiere of the LEGO Group’s brand-new theme, LEGO® DREAMZzz™

11th May – Celebs including Myleene Klass, Gemma Collins and Giovanna Fletcher were in attendance tonight at the premiere of the LEGO Group’s new homegrown IP, LEGO® DREAMZzz™, the first theme inspired by the way children dream.

LEGO DREAMZzz™ brings to life the creativity of children’s dreams through an epic new content series and product range, and celebs and their families got a sneak peek at the first two episodes ahead of the worldwide launch on 15th May.

The first ten episodes will be available on YouTube, Amazon Prime, Sky, Netflix and ITVX in the UK, follows the adventures of school friends, Mateo, Izzie, Cooper, Logan and Zoey, as they join a secret agency and learn to use the power of imagination to journey into the Dream World – and defeat the tyrannical Nightmare King! At the premiere, guests including Myleene Klass, Gemma Collins and Giovanna Fletcher and their families were immersed in the LEGO DREAMZzz™ world. This included an interactive walk-through of the Dream Landing – complete with Mateo and Izzie’s bedroom – and Fantasy Realm with 360 photo opp, a DREAMZzz confession booth where guests could describe their craziest dreams, a DREAMZzz vortex, and a life-sized brick-built version of DREAMZzz™ character Z-blob.

Talking about her dreams, Amy Childs said “I love to dream and used to have crazy dreams, but I’m not dreaming a lot at the moment, since the twins arrived!” Talking about the show, she commented, “I would recommend to all my friends and it’s great for children with big imaginations.”

After the show, Myleene Klass, who attended with her daughter Hero, said, “the series starts to unpick what children experience, and how they have the ability to tap into any fantasy via their own imagination in their dreams”.

“I’m all about using imagination and escaping to different worlds, so the LEGO DREAMZzz show was perfect for that”, said Joe Sugg, who writes his dreams down and said he has pages and pages of them.

Gemma Collins, who came with her nephews, longs for a dream world where everyone is happy, and said: “I love the dream world, and that you can come in and out of it. I think we all live in the dream world really!”

Giovanna Fletcher had the final word of the evening, “if there was a Z-blob in my life I’d be very very happy!”.

SHOWBIZ

The launch of LEGO DREAMZzz™ comes after new research conducted amongst 23,500 children globally, found over two thirds (76%) of children aged 6-12 in UK & ROI are experiencing complex emotions, such as stress or loneliness, in their day-to-day lives, with one in seven(15%) citing events in the world or on social media as causes.

The content series will be followed by a brand-new product range including Izzie and Bunchu the Bunny, Mrs. Castillo’s Turtle Van and the Nightmare Shark Ship. The products are unlike anything the LEGO Group has launched before; 80% of a LEGO DREAMZzz™ build follows instructions, but for the final 20%, the choice of what to make is left up to the builder, meaning they can build and rebuild during play.

LEGO® DREAMZzz™ series is available to watch on the LEGO YouTube channel from May 15th, 2023 on https://youtu.be/tD0T0TYsR6w at 5pm GMT. Season one will also be available to stream on Amazon Prime, Netflix, ITVX and Sky.

  1. I’m really excited for this new theme from LEGO. After the demise of both Hidden Side and Vidiyo, this new line will fill the void left behind by what were, in my opinion, two really and unique themes. I think I’m more excited that Dreamzzz won’t be hampered by VR. For me, it never really worked with the previously mentioned themes. Kids imaginations are pretty vivid enough without the need to have to use a mobile device.

Echoing Adam, it was a real treat to be invited along to the celebrity launch. LEGO certainly took care of us all. I was very partial to the big bag of sweets which I munched on during the showing of episodes one and two. Thank you LEGO!
