With the Leicester Square LEGO® Store reopening tomorrow, there will be a number of promotional items available over the next couple of weeks. One of those items is a VIP exclusive LEGO Delivery Truck set. This will be offered to shoppers visiting the Leicester Square store from Monday next week. I was invited to the exclusive press preview event yesterday, where I left with a goody bag which featured the Delivery Truck set so here’s a closer look at it.

The set comes packaged in the same square yellow box as some of the other promotional sets have recently such as the Vintage Camera, Flying Car and Ulysses Space Probe. This means the instructions also act as the cover of the box and the elements are in a simple unsealed bag.
The set is a take on the eye-catching transportation used by the LEGO Group to transport LEGO elements and products around Billund. If you have visited the Danish town, you’ll have seen the bright yellow trucks and vans. As a set it’s quite similar to a LEGO City vehicle, offering a similar sized build and level of detail. It uses a 4+ Starter Brick base as the chassis and those large side panels featuring the LEGO logo are printed.
It includes a minifigure and a couple of cardboard boxes, which can be loaded in the back of the truck. Unfortunately, both of these are quite plain, it would have been nice to have the LEGO logo on the driver’s jacket or some form of detail on the boxes. But as a promotional set, it’s quite cool and the spend requirement is quite reasonable compared to some of the other recent promotions.
The set will be given away with spends of £75 or more, exclusively for VIP members and only at the Leicester Square store between August 15th to the 18th.
