Explore The History Of LEGO

A rather interesting part of the LEGO® website has been discovered by LEGO loving Tweeter ProfessorBrickkeeper. The history of the LEGO Group is collated into an interactive timeline of key events, products and places. The whole thing is overseen by the team who look after the LEGO Idea House. This is a private museum of LEGO goodies, which stands within the original family home of the Ole Kirk Kristiansen. I’ve had the honour of being able to visit the Idea House and the special vault housed underneath it and it’s an amazing journey through the 80 odd year history of LEGO. Unfortunately the Idea House isn’t open to the public but you can still experience its detailed history of the LEGO Group thanks to Explore The LEGO History section of the site. Not only does it have some amazing images of the early days, such as the second image below, which was from an early retailer product showcase, where shopkeepers were just left to build. It also highlights many of the great product innovations and how the LEGO brand has expanded beyond the brick. Go Explore The LEGO History for yourself here.
