A few years ago during Comic-Con, a LEGO® Comic Book Creator was launched which allowed fans to create a unique comic book featuring either Spider-Man, Star Wars or Batman. It’s now returned as a VIP reward and despite previously being free it now costs 600 150 VIP points. After redeeming the rewards you’ll get a code to enter on the LEGO VIP Comic hub. After creating your Minifigure avatar, you’ll need to pick a theme, with Star Wars, Spider-Man or Batman all making a return. Then after a few simple multi-choice questions, your adventure is almost complete. There is no physical copy of the reward outside of North America, it will be provided as a digital comic everywhere else. This seems a little pointless, especially since this was previously offered for free. This VIP Reward may not be available in all regions, check your local LEGO VIP Centre for more details.
Update: after feeding back to the LEGO Group, the amount of points required for this reward has now been reduced to 150 instead of 600. Still should be free, at least outside of North America, where the reward is being offered as a physical comic book.

Is this something that can be customized with names? I would consider it if I could get my son’s name added to it. Or does it build a story based on a few basic/ generic questions? Also, when I look on the lego.com website, it gives me the option to select digital or physical copy, the latter being 1,500 points.

Yes it adds names and other unique stuff based on questions. And it seems those in North America can get a physical copy of the comic. This option isn’t available anywhere else.
