Click & Snap: LEGO 2021 Holiday Gift

As a LEGO® Ambassador, I’m lucky enough to receive a wonderful Christmas gift from the folks at the LEGO Group. It’s not just us Ambassadors who are graced by some festive generosity. Every year members of the LEGO Design Teams create festive-themed sets, with one being chosen to become the set gifted at Christmas. The chosen set then gets given to all LEGO employees. Thanks to the AFOL Engagement Team, all of the Ambassadors and certified professional builders receive the same set as LEGO staff. Last year it was, a set celebrating 40 years of LEGO Education, with previous sets being Yuletide Squadron X-wing, which celebrated 20 years of LEGO Star Wars and an oversized Santa’s Sleigh and Reindeer, which celebrated 40 years of LEGO Minifigures.

This year has seen a handful of LEGO product lines hit significant milestones, but it falls to the Masters of Spinjitzu to inspire the 2021 LEGO Employee Gift. Set 4002021: The Temple of Celebration takes the world of NINJAGO and gives it a festive twist. The set features a temple which comprises of four sections, along with a Christmas Tree, table set and a Reindeeragon along with a sleigh. It also features an impressive 11 Minifigures, these include all seven of the 10th Anniversary Golden Minifigures. That includes Wu, who is completely gold in the NINJAGO City Gardens set, as his variant head is also included.

The Temple of Celebration has similar traits to past LEGO NINJAGO sets such as the Temple Airjitzu or the more recent Monastery of Spinjitzu. Inside the temple, there are a couple of Easter Eggs, including a mini version of the NINJAGO City Gardens set, a 10th Anniverasy tile and the aforementioned golden Wu head, beard and hat. There’s space to add either the Christmas Tree or dinner table and chairs.

One of the most unique elements of the set is Garmadon’s festive sleigh, which is being pulled by a reindeer-inspired dragon. This blend of creatures looks amazing and ties very nicely to the NINJAGO theme. It’s a true privilege to be gifted these sets by the LEGO Group. Although they are billed as employee gifts, just to be clear LEGO Ambassadors are not employed by the LEGO Group. As ever thank you to the LEGO Group and the AFOLET for this wonderfully unique gift.

  1. Hello! This is an awesome thing. Do the employees at their US stores get these gifts as well?
