Happy New Year but before we head off into 2019, let’s take a peek back at some of the stand out events in 2018 along with some of the most popular stories from across the past year. 2018 was an eventful year filled with plenty of LEGO® anniversaries, the LEGO brick celebrated its 60th anniversary, LEGO Minifigures reached their 40 birthday, LEGO Ideas made it to 10 years and LEGO Mindstorm celebrated 20 years. In 2018 we also said a quiet farewell to NEXO KNIGHTS and Elves themes. These story-based adventures gave use some cool sets and unique elements, although both naturally reached their end. Beyond the brick, I’ve had a few adventures of my own. I was asked to appear on BBC Radio to chat about LEGO, I helped Merlin with the launch of the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre in Birmingham and attended a few fun press events including the launch of the LEGO Creator Bond Aston Martin DB5 and the LEGO Harry Potter range preview. As for what you lovely lot have been reading here on some of the most popular stories and features from 2018.

It still amazes me on what sort of articles and features really take off, for example the recent reveal of the LEGO Wall Hanger studs has been stupidly popular. Which is why I have always aimed to cover as much LEGO news has possible. LEGO has expanded far beyond just playsets and from the how you guys connect with our content, it seems like we’ve on the right track. The start of a new year also means the appearance of loads of new LEGO sets, see what’s now available here. So with that is just leaves me to wish you a very Happy New Year and to say a massive thank each and every one of our readers, who take the time to visit BricksFanz, read my ramblings and share the love of LEGO.
