Big Ideas: LEGO Ideas Projects Showcase

It’s been a few months seen I’ve done a showcase of cool and interesting projects currently vying for votes on LEGO® Ideas. The platform continues to be a source of some impressive build skills and has given us an equally impressive selection of sets, in recent months those have included the Seinfeld, Medieval Blacksmith and the Grand Piano. With plenty more sets still to come! So it’s once again time to showcase some of my favourite Ideas projects, which deserve to be highlighted. If you like what you see, follow the links and get voting. If a project reaches the magic number of 10,000 votes it could become a brand new LEGO set. There are also various stages of vote thresholds, which activates expended time which projects can remain active on LEGO Ideas. Giving them a better chance of getting to 10k. So let’s take a look at my favourite LEGO Ideas projects this month.

KNIGHT RIDER: KITT AND THE F.L.A.G. MOBILE COMMAND UNIT

This selection of LEGO Ideas picks has an unintended 80s vibe to them. The first is based on the classic 1980 TV series, Knight Rider. Not only is KITT present along with Michael Knight, but the Foundation for Law and Government command truck as well. The project does a great job of recreating KITT, with the other parts of it being a nice bonus.

THE A-TEAM: VAN AND CREW

The same fan designer behind the Knight Rider project has also turned their hand to another 80s classic. This crack commando unit has been transformed into an amazing brick-built recreation of the iconic A-Team van. If you want to build them, If no one else can help, Then you can find them on Ideas and maybe you can support the A-team project.

SONY WALKMAN

Introduced in the late 70s, Sony’s portable music player was an iconic way to listen to the latest tunes on the go. Long before streaming, the humble cassette could be popped into a Walkman. Their popularity grew more recently thanks to Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy films. This brick-built recreation is a charming reminding of classic tech.

THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE

The popular The Railway Series books by the Reverend W. Awdry acted as inspiration for the 80s stop-motion Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends series. Thomas has since become a global icon and this project is a nice reminder of afternoons after school visiting the island of Sodor.

SAMURAI HELMET (KABUTO)

As a massive fan of Japanese culture and the fact I’m currently potter around the island of Tsushima, this project caught my eye. It would be a great display and perfectly suited for adult builders. It captures the elegance of the Samurai’s famed headgear.

THE DOJO

Sticking with Japan, the Dojo is a great looking building that is packed with so much detail both inside and out. It would tie nicely with previous CNY sets or the LEGO NINJAGO theme.

SCULPTURE OF A LADY

Ideas Sculpture

This is a bit of a leftfield choice for me, but it really grabbed my attention. I love the use of parts to create a unique shape to the sculpture. It also looks like it could be an interesting build.

WILD LEEKS

Don’t forget you can still support my Ideas project, inspired by BricksFanz 2021 April Fool’s Day feature. Wild Leeks could be a tasty addition to the LEGO Ideas range.
