75267: Mandalorian Battle Pack Set Review

Since Disney+ launched in selected countries back in November, one of its exclusive shows has taken the world by storm. The Mandalorian follows the story of a faceless warrior, who roams the galaxy collecting bounties to help upgrade his armour. So far there has only been one LEGO® set based on the show released, the AT-ST Raider. However this has now been joined by the Mandalorian Battle Pack. These Minifigure focused sets have long been a staple of the Star War theme, and have quite the fanbase, thanks to their abundance of Minifigures and often unique characters. The Mandalorian Battle Pack features four Mandalorian Warriors, along with a Speeder Bike and small battlement. Let’s take a closer look at The Mandalorian Battle Pack.

The Build

The main focus of the set is the Minifigures, but there are also two buildable elements – a Speeder Bike and rocky battlement. The Speeder Bike is quite cool, it’s a swoop style bike so it’s quite compact compared to other Speeder Bikes. One thing I like is the mismatched colours used across the vehicle. Light grey and dark tan is mixed to give the Speeder Bike a rustic look. There is room to seat a Minifigure, along with two stud-shooter gun, which are mounted on either side of the bike. The section of scenery is dubbed a ‘defense fort’ which is a little loose with the description. It’s merely a plate with some rocky looking elements on it. There is room for a Minifigure to be partly hidden behind cover and places to mount stud shooter blasters, but it’s far from a fort.

The Minifigures

Despite featuring a Speeder and scenery, the focus of the set and biggest draw are the four Mandalorian Minifigures. These are all unique to this set and not based on any particular characters. Before Mandalorians were a thing, their most famous poster boy was the famed bounty hunter Boba Fett. His unique style has formed the basis of all other Mandalorian characters. The Mandalorian look is comprised of a helmet, armour and a cape.

Each of the four Minifigures have a distinctive appearance. Judging by their visors, there seems to be two female and two male warriors. The female Mandalorians have a more angled t-visor on their helmets. Although under all four of the Minifigures helmets are plain black heads. The presumably female Minifigures also both feature a targeting antenna. I like that they all have a unique appearance something which is common within the Mandalorian culture.

Overall

For what Battle Pack lacks in play functions, they more than make up for with Minifigures. Mandalorians are a much loved part of Star Wars fandom, even more so thanks to the Disney+ series. With the series not airing here in the UK until March, it’s a little difficult to say how much this set and the characters featured in it, relate the what is seen on screen. Regardless this is a great collection of Minifigures and the perfect basis to create your own Mandalorian army.
