As the name of the set suggests, it’s a mobile food cart type that specialises in caffeine enriched hot beverages. The actual cart is a towable one and could easily be hitched up to a vehicle which the correct coupling. The exterior of the coffee cart features a couple of menu boards and a great brick-built coffee cup sign, which nicely mirrors the classic LEGO cup element. One thing I really like about the outside of the cart is the way is rounded by using slopes, these give it a unique appearance.
Inside the cart of the various pieces of equipment, you’d expect to use in the creation of a frothy coffee and the like. I particularly like the coffee machine, with 1×1 round plates with handles making perfect portafilters. You can easily access the inside of the coffee cart by removing the roof. This is only attached by a couple of studs, so is very easy to detach.
As for the coffee cart, the set also includes a classic bike element, it’s only been included in six other sets in this colour, and only in one other set this year, so it could be considered rare. There’s also a small table stand, which uses a barrel element as its base and a colourful umbrella, which features the super rare multi-coloured parasol element.
There are two Minifigures included in the set. Both are giving off plenty of hipster vibes. The Coffee Cart employee uses the same torso as the Blacksmith from the LEGO Ideas Medieval Blacksmith set. The customer also uses a fairly rare hairpiece that has only been featured in a couple of other sets. The other parts used to make up both Minifigures have been used in a handful of other sets. They both perfectly fit the modern vibe of this neat little set. This is what a GWP set should be, sensible spend threshold and a great little build, which can complement other themes as well as being great on its own.
