10772: Mickey Mouse’s Propeller Plane Set Review

One of the smallest of the new LEGO® Mickey and Friends sets is Mickey’s Propeller Plane. As with all the 4+ sets, it includes a few unique and printed pieces. Plus being a Disney set, you’re also treated to another exclusive Minifigure, not found in any other set. But does such a small set offer the same level of excitement as the others in the range? Let’s find out in my review of set 10772: Mickey’s Propeller Plane.

As the name suggests, the set features a small plane, along with a very small tool station and a unique Mickey Minifigure. Although a small set, to me it seemed to be the most complex. Partly due to the build being focused upon a single item. The Starter Brick is a small vehicle base, it’s an odd little piece that has appeared in a couple of other 4+ sets including a Marvel one and a NINJAGO one. There are a couple of other rare pieces including a few of the red elements and the plates used for the wings are only found in this particular colour in this set. There’s another one of the Mouse symbol elements, which has been found in all Mickey & Friends sets, along with two printed 2×2 round tiles, used to decorate the wings.

Mickey has appeared in a number of different sets and Minifigures series, making him the most prolific of the Disney characters. The iconic mouse is dressed in a pilot-themed outfit, which includes flight goggles printed onto the head piece and a suitably themed jacket torso. It’s unique enough to warrant buying this set just for the Minifigures, especially if you are collecting them all.

I must say this is the most disappointing of the range. Not because of the size but because of the look of the plane. It looks way better on the packaging than it does up close. It feels a little too chunky and awkward looking. The Minifigure is a great addition to the Mickey line-up and I’m liking the Octan vibe being given off by the mouse-themed tool station even if this is unintentional.
